    Join author Eibhlís Carcione for an interactive plunge into all things spooky and gothic, exploring her books including Black Gables (Everything with Words). She will guide you into a world of ghosts and her favourite characters from myth and folklore to help you write your own creepy poems and stories. Plus you’ll have the chance to enter The Black Gables Art and Creative Writing Competition!

    Eibhlís Carcione is a children’s author and teacher. She is also a bilingual poet who writes poems in Irish and English. She has published three poetry books in Irish and has won many prestigious prizes. She has written hundreds of poems, often about the power of nature, mermaids, myths, magic, and the occasional ghost. She lives in Cork city with her husband, daughter, and two faithful canine companions. Her debut middle grade novel Welcome To Dead Town Raven McKay was published by Everything With Words in 2023. It was chosen as a Times Best Summer Reads 2023 and a Book Trust Book of the Month. “Deliciously dark and gorgeously gothic!” Kieran Larwood, author of the Five Realms Series. Her second middle grade novel Black Gables will be published in October 2024.
