Have fun with your creativity! Children’s writers, Lucinda Jacob and Sarah Webb, will share some of their favourite poems about dragons and horses, jellyfish and pancakes from the new book they have co-edited, I am the Wind: Irish Poems for Children Everywhere (Little Island Books), illustrated by Ashwin Chacko. Then they will help the children create their own rhymes and poems. Will they write funny nonsense verse like Spike Milligan, or an ode to beans like Zainab Boladale? Let’s see!

This is a schools event. Expressions of interest should be emailed to info@dublinbookfestival.com

Lucinda Jacob is a children’s writer and creative writing teacher. She has written (and in some cases illustrated) several books for children, as well as scripts for children’s TV and radio. She is also a textile artist and works part-time as a librarian. Her poetry collection, Hopscotch in the Sky, illustrated by Lauren O’Neill, was published in 2017 by Little Island.

Sarah Webb is an award-winning Irish children’s writer, creative writing teacher and Events Manager at Halfway up the Stairs children’s bookshop in Greystones, County Wicklow.
