Vincent Hyland combines the arts and sciences to produce engaging multimedia and augmented reality pieces for outdoor education. Scuba diving since the mid-1970’s his decades of underwater experience has taken him overseas to far-flung places such as Antarctica and Galapagos where he filmed the area’s underwater biodiversity. He was founder and publisher of the multi-award winning Wild Ireland online and print magazine. In the year 2000 he created and broadcast Ireland’s first wildlife internet livestream, the award winning Nestwatch series. He has worked with the BBC’s Natural History Unit and appeared on multiple channels including BBC, RTE, TV3, TG4 and NHK Japan. He was a member of the group that established the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve. In 2023 he photographed, wrote and designed his first self-published book titled ‘Wild Derrynane’. Vincent runs Wild Derrynane’s – School of Fish; a coastal outdoor education experience.
