Winter Papers: Kevin Barry With Vona Groarke, Aingeala Flannery, Alice Lyons and Polina Cosgrave in conversation with Seán Rocks

Winter Papers, Ireland’s annual arts anthology, is celebrating the publication of its 10th volume this year. Join us for a special evening of conversation and culture as RTÉ Radio 1 Arena’s Seán Rocks is joined by the anthology’s co-editor, Kevin Barry, and contributors Vona Groarke, Aingeala Flannery, Alice Lyons and Polina Cosgrave.
With a special musical performance on the night by HousePlants, the musical project of Bell X1’s Paul Noonan and producer Daithí.
This will be a live broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 so you must be seated by 6.50pm.
Kevin Barry is the author of three collections of short stories, and four novels, including most recently The Heart in Winter.
Polina Cosgrave is a bilingual writer/performer based in Dublin. Her work has appeared in The Stinging Fly, Crannóg, Southword, Banshee and The Irish Times. Polina’s second poetry collection Cargo was published by The Gallery Press, 2024.
Aingeala Flannery is a writer and broadcaster. Her novel The Amusements won the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and the John McGahern Prize. She is the Arts Council Writer-in-Residence 2024 at Dublin City University.
Vona Groarke has published nine collections, including Link (Gallery, 2021), and Hereafter, a hybrid account of Irish domestic servants in 1890s New York (New York University Press, 2022). She is current Writer in Residence at St John’s College, Cambridge.
Alice Lyons‘ recent books are Oona (Lilliput Press) and The Breadbasket of Europe (Veer Books). Born in Paterson, New Jersey, she has lived in the northwest of Ireland since 1998.
