Suitable for all the family!
How many pigs are there in Ireland? How long does pregnancy last in horses? What is the most widely grown crop in Ireland? Darragh McCullough answers all of these questions and more in his new picture book, The Great Irish Farm Book (Gill Books). Join Darragh and illustrator Sally Caulwell – along with some furry, four-legged friends – for this online event at Farmleigh Estate. In this event, you’ll find out all sorts of crazy facts about farm animals, and you’ll also learn how to draw them by taking part in a draw-along with Sally.
Darragh McCullough is a journalist, broadcaster and farmer specialising in agricultural and rural affairs. He is the longest-serving presenter on RTÉ television’s Ear to the Ground programme. He lives on a family farm in Co. Meath.
Sally Caulwell is a Dublin-based illustrator, designer and mother. A graduate of the National College of Art and Design, she previously illustrated Humanology by Professor Luke O’Neill.
All animals provided for this event were from Maperath Farm who provide a mobile farm service.
