Introduction

1WML is the flagship building within the Windmill Quarter and is on the corner of a block. The surrounding streets are a mix of vibrant businesses and cultural venues, and residential streets.

Entrance

The main entrance is wheelchair, walker, and mobility scooter accessible with automatic opening door option to the side of the rotating doors entrance. On arrival for festival events, attendees will be met just inside the main entrance by festival staff/volunteers, who will be wearing festival lanyards. If you need any assistance please don’t hesitate to ask.

Interior description

The venue is an open plan space with 3m high ceilings and is all on ground level. Seating is generally theatre style with an approximate capacity of up to 200, dependent on set-up.

Seating

Front row is accessible for wheelchair and scooter users.
Room for walkers in front row; volunteers can assist with seating and walker storage.
Guide dogs are welcome.

Bathrooms

Accessible bathroom available directly off the main venue space, entrance along the back wall of the venue with clear corridor access route.

Stage/backstage

Steps up to stage. Ramp option available if requested in advance.
Green room is in a separate building directly across the road and is accessible for wheelchair, walker, and scooter users.
