Rainbow Library Creative Workshop – BOOKED OUT Louise Manifold and Morgan Lyons
Join artist Louise Manifold and writer Morgan Lyons from Rainbow Library to create your own tarot cards. Starting with the theme of ‘Lore’, the title of Rainbow Library’s latest book, participants will explore the meanings behind tarot’s major arcana and develop their own card. Participants will use collage, drawing and text to bring their ideas to life.

Louise Manifold (she/her) is an artist and lecturer based in Galway. She makes film, sculpture, photography, collage, drawing and text artworks. She is fascinated by myths and stories and creates new worlds to explore these. She is a lecturer in Film Studies and Art and Design in ATU, Galway. Louise has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and internationally, including exhibitions and residencies in New York, Cairo, Chicago, Stockholm, and London. She curated ‘Aerial Sparks’, a residency series for international artist on board the Celtic Explorer marine research vessel, which culminated in an all-island exhibition on Inis Oirr as part of Galway Capital of Culture 2020.
Morgan Lyons (she/her) has a passion for creating art depicting nature, body respect and mental health. Her art has been displayed in the National Gallery of Ireland and Queer Art Circle Gallery London. Her poetry has been published by Good Day Cork, Lesbian Art Circle, New Word Order UCD and Motley Magazine UCC. Morgan enjoys sharing her words at poetry slams, reading (and writing) young adult fantasy, walking with her dog, and is in constant awe of birds. She has recently completed an MA in Creative Writing at UCD.
About Rainbow Library: Rainbow Library is a group of young LGBTQIA+ writers and illustrators from Co. Cork. Supported by Cork County Library and Arts Service, the group meet monthly to create zines, books and artworks. Rainbow Library has just published their second anthology, ‘Lore’, which was launched at the west Cork Literary Festival in Bantry this year. They will also be participating in Cork Zine Fest this year.
