Dublin Book Festival takes place in venues all around Dublin City, including historic cultural venues, contemporary entertainment venues, and landmark outdoor venues. Designated as the 4th UNESCO City of Literature in 2010, Dublin is one of Europe’s cultural capitals, and a great travel destination with its mix of the traditional and the modern.
Our full programme for November will be revealed in September. All bookings, unless otherwise stated, are via our website and through Eventbrite. All sales are final. We are unable to accommodate refunds, unless an event is cancelled or amended.
The Aircoach brings international visitors directly from Dublin Airport into Dublin City.
Dublin Bus also operates services from the airport, and around the city.
Heuston Train Station (a 12 minute walk from this year’s Festival Hub at IMMA Venues) and Connolly Train Station, both on and connected by the Luas line, bring national visitors into Dublin City. Bus Eireann also operates national bus services to the city.
The Luas Red and Green lines run through the city, allowing easy travel between many of our venues.
The majority of our venues are in Dublin City Centre, and all easily reached by foot or by public transport. Please visit our separate venues pages to help plan your visit to each of our partner venues.
With plenty of public transport available we encourage visitors to leave cars behind. Where travel by car is necessary there are many carparks throughout the city and you will find some parking advice on each of our venues pages, depending on the venue your event will take place in.
Dublin City has a wide range of hotels near our festival venues. The Chancery, The Grafton, Brooks Hotel, The Wren Urban Nest, and the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel on Golden Lane are just some of those conveniently located when visiting our festival venues.
Dublin has an abundance of great bookshops to visit. The Gutter Bookshop in Temple Bar is our festival bookshop partner, providing book stands at our Festival Hub and across our festival venues.
Dubray, Hodges Figgis, The Winding Stair and Books Upstairs are just some of the other great bookshops to be found in Dublin City.
