Child Safeguarding Statement

The Dublin Book Festival in accordance with our Code of Behaviour (Underage) and our legislative requirements have agreed this Child Safeguarding Statement which is binding on all employees, volunteers and artists.

Children taking part in the Dublin Book Festival events should be supervised by a parent, guardian or teacher at all times.

The Dublin Book Festival has created a Children’s Protection Policy including, the following procedures support our intention to safeguard children attending events at the festival:

  2. Code of behaviour for staff 
  3. Reporting procedures 
  4. Confidentiality statement 
  5. Safe recruitment and selection Procedures 
  6. Safe management of staff 
  7. Responsible adult involvement and sharing of Information
  8. Incidences of poor practice and allegations against staff

We are committed to the implementation of this Child Safeguarding Statement and the procedures contained therein that outline our intentions to keep children safe from harm.

Our Child Safeguarding Statement has been prepared in accordance with the legislature requirements contained in the Children First Act 2015 and the Children (NI) Order 1995 and  will be reviewed in January 2022.
