A Literary Walking Tour

    Starting off from just outside the Viking foundation of Christ Church Cathedral, join author Pat Liddy, or one of his expert guides, on a walking tour of the old city. Learn about the first development of writing in Ireland, from the earliest monastic settlements to the internationally-recognised flowering of some of the most famous writers associated with Dublin from at least the 17th century to modern times. During this 2-hour tour you will pass by iconic places including Christchurch Place, Fishamble Street East Essex Street, Parliament Street, the Chester Beatty, Ship Street, le Pole Square, St Patrick’s Cathedral and the early 18th century Marsh’s Library, Ireland’s first public library. A not-to-be-missed tour if you want to spend time in the presence of these great people of letters while walking through the streets and byways of Dublin, designated a UNESCO City of Literature.

    The meeting point for this walk is the pedestrian entrance gate to Christ Church Cathedral, Christchurch Place, Wood Quay, Dublin, D08 TF98.
