IMMA Venues

Nestled within 48 acres of parkland in the heart of Dublin 8, IMMA is located at the extraordinary historic site of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Our programme extends beyond the gallery, bringing the entire campus to life — from meadows and formal gardens to iconic buildings and courtyards. A visit to IMMA offers space to discover, connect, and reflect — whether in our galleries, grounds, gardens, café, or shop.

Entrance

All Dublin Book Festival 2025 events will be taking place in the North Range. The North Range can be accessed via either the North West Arch or the North East Arch. Both entrances are fully accessible.

Transit

IMMA offers ample parking and extensive outdoor grounds to explore during your visit.

We are delighted to let our audiences know that parking at IMMA across the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November is free. 

Public transport options nearby include the Luas Red Line, with the closest stops at St. James’s and Heuston Station (8 minute walk).

You can reach IMMA by taking a bus (145 or C-Spine buses C1,2,3,4) to Heuston Station and then walking 8 minutes to IMMA via the Military Road gate

Or by taking a bus (13, 40, 73, G-Spine G1,2) to St. James’s Hospital which is also an 8 minute walk via steps to Bow Lane onto Irwin St. and then Military Rd.

You can also reach IMMA by using one of the Hop-on Hop-off Tourist Bus services, all of which stop right outside IMMA’s Military Road entrance.

The IMMA campus is accessible to all visitors, with lifts available in every building. Please note the exception is the lower gardens, which must be accessed down a flight of steps.

Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available in the Main Building, as well as at various points across the campus.
