RDS Library & Archives

Established within 6 months of the foundation of the RDS in 1731, the RDS Library & Archives is one of the most beautiful libraries in Dublin and one of its best kept secrets! It holds a vast collection including (but not limited to) the corporate archives of the RDS dating back to the 18th century, which are rich in material relating to Irish agriculture, arts, science and industry.

Entrance

The venue is entered off Merrion Road, a busy road with plenty of restaurants and cafés which leads in towards Dublin City. The entrance to the venue is fully accessible.

The RDS Library & Archives has direct public transport links.

The DART service runs to Lansdowne Road Station and Sandymount Station, both of which are a short walk from the RDS.

Bicycle parking racks are available on site at the RDS.

There is also limited free public parking at the venue, and further paid parking.

All of the of spaces in the RDS are wheelchair accessible.

For ticketed events, the wheelchair spaces and companion seats should be booked when purchasing your ticket. For Dublin Book Festival events this can be requested at info@dublinbookfestival.com.

Toilets for people with disabilities are available throughout the venue.

At the RDS there are car parking, facilities and venue access available for people with disabilities. There are a number of Disabled Car Parking spaces located in the Merrion Rd Car Park and in the Simmonscourt Car Park.  These are available on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.

Guide dogs are welcome in the RDS in all areas.
