Dublin City Council
Dublin City Council is the authority responsible for local government in the city of Dublin, supporting the arts through its Dublin City Arts Office.
Dublin UNESCO City of Literature
Dublin is the fourth UNESCO City of Literature, one of 53 UNESCO Cities of Literature worldwide.
With four Nobel prize winners (Yeats, Beckett, Shaw and Heaney), a brace of universities of global distinction in Trinity and UCD, over half a dozen books festivals, and the internationally prestigious Dublin Literary Award, it is without doubt that Ireland’s capital has literature in its blood.
Dublin City Council: Night-Time Economy
Dublin Book Festival is a festival that weaves our love of books into the very heart of Dublin City, inviting and encouraging visitors to experience the best of Dublin’s dynamic evening cultural nightlife in a whole new way. The DBF After Dark strand is supported by The Night-Time Economy Advisor: Dublin City Council.
Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland
Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland is the national competitive research and innovation funding agency, established through the amalgamation of the activities and functions of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the Irish Research Council (IRC). Dublin Book Festival is supported by Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland as part of Science Week.
Since its establishment in 2005, Culture Ireland has operated within the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. It supports artists in presenting and promoting their work on an international level, as well as working to build relationships and networks with arts and cultural organisations, relevant public bodies, state agencies and Government departments at home and abroad to advance the global impact of Irish artists. The International Festival Directors delegation is supported by Culture Ireland.
