For 20 years now, Dublin Book Festival has been a vibrant celebration of Ireland’s literary talent, bringing Ireland’s most captivating voices together with book-loving audiences. Our core belief is that literature, and literary events, should be accessible to all. We believe that literature can not only bring great joy and a sense of community through a shared love, but also that access to literature can change lives. 

DBF operates as a non-profit and depends on the invaluable support of our funders, sponsors, partners and donors, not only to ensure that our festival can happen but also to ensure accessibility to audiences, no matter their means. We are proud to present our full family and schools’ programmes free of charge. We are also proud to be able to offer free access to a wide range of adult events and, where entry is paid, we work hard to keep this in the affordable range. 

With your vital support, each year, we can continue to:

• offer up to 1500+ school children free access to dynamic, engaging and inspiring events (both in-person and online) with some of Ireland’s best-loved children’s authors and illustrators, fostering a love of reading and writing from a young age 
• programme brilliant, interactive free family events with some of Ireland’s best-loved children’s authors and illustrators, reaching up to 6,000+ attendees 
• programme 125+ high-quality, accessible literary events throughout the year reaching up to 15,000+ attendees, celebrating Ireland’s rich literary talent to be found in everything from contemporary fiction and poetry to history, spoken word, science, art, nature, and more.
• support, develop and celebrate Ireland’s vibrant literary community, in particular emerging and marginalised voices, providing a wide-reaching platform and supportive environment in which they can flourish and share their work alongside established writers and artists
