Call for a Youth Curator: Dublin Book Festival 2026
Published 13/05/2026Call for a Youth Curator
Dublin Book Festival is delighted to announce a new initiative as we plan towards this year’s programme. We are looking for a Youth Curator (aged 18–24) to help programme bold, exciting literary events for young audiences today. The events will be part of this year’s flagship festival taking place 4 – 8 November, in venues all around Dublin.
This initiative aims to connect a new generation of readers and cultural producers with Dublin’s contemporary literary life, while building a lasting youth audience for literary events in the city.
This is a paid opportunity for a young person based in Ireland who is interested in literature and creative programming — and who wants to help shape the kinds of literary events that they would want to attend.
The selected curator will work with the Dublin Book Festival team over a period beginning in June, and working towards programme announcement in September; taking part in fortnightly online meetings and developing ideas for a youth-focused literary strand of our flagship festival in November.
Previous curatorial experience is not essential. We are looking for someone with curiosity, imagination, strong ideas, and an interest in creating meaningful cultural experiences for young audiences.
What does the role offer?
The role offers:
- mentoring and support throughout the process
- hands-on experience in literary programming and event development
- opportunities to connect with writers, artists, publishers, and cultural organisations
- the opportunity to play an active part in one of Ireland’s leading literary festivals
- a paid curatorial opportunity
