DBF 24 Festival Hub

The DBF Festival Hub for 2024 is once again in The Printworks, in the grounds of the historic Dublin Castle in Dublin’s City Centre.

We’ll be hosting a wide range of brilliant book events there, for both adults and children, but what about before and after the events you attend? At the heart of the Festival Hub you will find our main welcome area, which is free to enter, whether you are booked in for any events or not!

From 11am – 4pm, on Saturday November 9th & Sunday 10th, we have a wide range of drop-in activities to enjoy in our vibrant and welcoming space, where you can meet and mingle with other book lovers or just curl up in a corner with a book, and you might just even spot your favourite authors!

So what drop-in activities and pastimes can you enjoy at the DBF Festival Hub?

  • Browse our bookshop celebrating Ireland’s writers and publishers
  • Get a brand new booked signed by your favourite authors (author signings for events in The Printworks take place just after their event)
  • Enjoy exhibitions on display
  • Roll the sleeves up and get creative at our arts and crafts table
  • Collect your treasure hunt guide from the starting point in the Festival Hub and set off to follow the clues around the grounds of Dublin Castle before returning for your prize
  • Enjoy games in our family area
  • Swap an old book from home for a different one at our children’s book swap area
  • Drop into our ‘Plant Your Own’ tent, plant something to take away with you, and learn about all the things you can plant and grow at home!

Just a few minutes walk from the Festival Hub, at the Chester Beatty also in the grounds of Dublin Castle, the Silk Road Café has a wide range of drinks, snacks and hot meals for all the family to enjoy! Or why not try a lovely dinner just around the corner from there at Fawn Restaurant at The Chancery or  Chez Max by the arch at the Dame Street entrance.

So if you’re coming in for an event, why not allow some time before and after to enjoy all the DBF Festival Hub has to offer? And if you’re just passing by, step on in and spend some time in our magical world of books.

The Printworks is a fully accessible space, and is also easily reached by bus, Luas and train. Email us on info@dublinbookfestival.com if you have any queries as you plan your visit.

You will also find our Box Office in the Festival Hub (card payment only).
