An Spórt agus an Réabhlóid in Éirinn Cathal Billings agus Paul Rouse
Imeacht Gaeilge é seo a bheidh á reáchtáil i gcomhpháirtíocht le Cumann Múinteoirí Staire na hÉireann. Beidh deis ag daltaí na Sraithe Sinsearaí bualadh le húdair an leabhair An Spórt agus an Réabhlóid in Éirinn (Royal Irish Academy), Cathal Billings agus Paul Rouse, agus iniúchadh a dhéanamh ar na naisc idir an spórt, an pholaitíocht agus an tsochaí le linn ré réabhlóideach na hÉireann. Gheobhaidh na daltaí léargas ar an ré thábhachtach seo i stair na hÉireann trí phlé, trí na ceisteanna a chuirfidh siad féin agus trí anailís ar fhoinsí stairiúla.
Presented in partnership with the History Teachers’ Association of Ireland, this Irish-language event gives Senior Cycle students the opportunity to meet the authors of An Spórt agus an Réabhlóid in Éirinn, Cathal Billings and Paul Rouse, and explore the connections between sport, politics and society during Ireland’s revolutionary period. Through discussion, student-led questions and the analysis of historical sources, students will gain insights into this important era of Irish history.
