Book Launch: Stay Winter Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh
Join us as acclaimed poet Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe and virtuoso fiddle maestro Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh come together in an intimate performance on the closing evening of the Dublin Book Festival. This event celebrates the publication of Stay Winter (Faber & Faber), Eipe’s much-anticipated second collection, which conjures a compelling wintry realm, capturing the ‘thing of beauty’ and the ‘dark thing’, as the poet confronts the shadow aspects of the self. This is an exclusive pre-publication launch of Stay Winter ahead of the collection’s official release on November 19th. The event will incorporate a fire ritual to welcome the dark half of the year on this new moon night. All purchases of the book will be accompanied by a complimentary, limited-edition, custom-designed matchbox.

Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe is a poet, pacifist and fabulist. She is the author of two poetry collections, Auguries of a Minor God and Stay Winter, both published by Faber & Faber. Her first collection was a finalist for the Dylan Thomas Prize, John Pollard Foundation International Poetry Prize, Michael Murphy Memorial Prize and the Butler Literary Award, and listed as a Poetry Book Society Recommendation, National Poetry Day Recommendation, Shakespeare & Co. Year of Reading Selection, and a Book of the Year by The Irish Times and The Irish Independent. She is a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of Culture Ireland and the board of the Dublin Book Festival.
Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh makes music on a 10-string fiddle called the hardanger d’amore. He has performed on some of the most beautiful stages in the world, including the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and the Carnegie Hall. Caoimhín performs as a solo artist, yet is also widely known through his collaborative work, including groups The Gloaming and This is How We Fly, and duos with Dan Trueman, Thomas Bartlett, Garth Knox, Mick O’Brien and Brendan Begley. He has made eighteen recordings to date, ranging from quite traditional to fairly out there, and continues to explore the region where traditional music begins to disintegrate.
