Literary Producer Event Facilitated by Julianne Mooney Siron
This engaging event, which encourages participation and discussion, is for professionals creating literature events at festivals, venues, libraries, or any organisations, to share experiences, gather information and try to explore how we can work together. The event will be facilitated by Julianne Mooney Siron, Director of Dublin Book Festival, with contributions from others working in the literary world, both in Ireland and internationally. We will be discussing challenges faced by festivals, new initiatives and experience gained through these, as well as exploring ways to innovate literary discussions, including cross-genre, multidisciplinary literary projects, and how guest curators can bring fresh perspectives and reach new audiences.
Julianne Mooney Siron is the Director of the Dublin Book Festival, one of Ireland’s largest book festivals, established in 2006 to celebrate Ireland’s writers and publishers. Julianne has been curating the annual festival for over 13 years, programming over 100 events for the flagship event in November along with events throughout the year. Julianne also programmes for literary organisations in Ireland including Dublin UNESCO City of Literature, Dublin City Libraries and Dun Laoghaire Libraries. Julianne also works with libraries and schools to encourage children to discover the joy of reading and has held the position of Reader-in-Residence in both Dublin City Libraries and DunLaoghaire Libraries over the years.
