Winter Papers Launch

    Join us to celebrate the launch of the 9th volume of Winter Papers, edited by Kevin Barry and Olivia Smith. Winter Papers is an annual anthology for the arts in Ireland and beyond and features fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography, visual art, along with artist-in-conversation pieces. Co-editor Kevin Barry will be in conversation with a number of writers and artists with work in the latest volume, including Edwina Guckian, Peter Murphy, Kathleen MacMahon and Jess Raymon. All are welcome.

     

    Edwina Guckian is a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, folklorist and community organiser from Co. Leitrim. She is the founder of the Airc Damhsa Culture Club and a recipient of an Arts Council Markievicz Award 2023.

     

     

    Kathleen MacMahon is a novelist, short story writer and journalist. Her work has been listed for the Irish Book Awards, the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Her short stories have been published in The Stinging Fly, The Irish Times and The Lonely Crowd, among others.

    Peter Murphy is a writer, spoken word performer and musician from Wexford. He has published two novels, John the Revelator and Shall We Gather at the River (Faber). He records and performs with his band Cursed Murphy Versus the Resistance.

     

     

     

    Jess Raymon won the 2023 Cuirt short story award. She has received bursaries from the Arts Council of Ireland and she is currently finishing a psychological horror novel set at a seaside fertility clinic.
