Foundation Programme 2023 – IWC and DBF Collaboration

Dublin Book Festival, in association with Irish Writers Centre, is delighted to invite applications to the Foundation Programme 2023, a bespoke four-month collaborative programme designed for six emerging and new writers, resident in the Dublin City Council area, as they launch their careers.

The Foundation Programme is specifically for writers at the beginning of their careers from backgrounds that are underrepresented in literature as described in the EDI statement on the IWC website.

Benefiting from a supportive environment for developing new writing, the six awardees of the programme will have access to a series of training and development supports, including one-on-one mentoring, writing workshops, an IWC creative writing workshop course and more!

Alongside these supports, the writers will immerse themselves in our main DBF Festival this November, and have the opportunity to perform the new pieces they have written for audiences at the festival.

As always, it’s our pleasure to collaborate with IWC, Ireland’s leading support and development centre for writers, on this exciting new opportunity for new and emerging writers, and we can’t wait to welcome the six successful applicants to our 2023 festival.
