Introduction

The Gate Theatre was founded in 1928. The theatre is located on Cavendish Row, just off O’Connell Street. The entrance area has direct access from street level, with a few steps out to the door. Please be aware that due to the historic nature of the theatre, lift access is located at the rear of the building.

The theatre is up a set of stairs from the entrance doors. The space is wheelchair accessible, and holds 371 guests. Toilets are located both by the doors to the theatre, and by our bar, just to the left of the auditorium.

Transit

The Gate Theatre is located in the heart of Dublin city at the top of O’Connell Street. It is accessible by all forms of transport.

For information regarding wheelchair access to the lift, please get in touch at  +353 1 874 4045 or boxoffice@gate-theatre.ie. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance to the back of the theatre, accessible from the Rotunda Hospital carpark.

To assist visitors with a hearing impairment, Auracast is accessible within the venue.
