Words on Water – Literary Boat Tours at Dublin Book Festival

At Dublin Book Festival we love to help you explore and experience the city through literature in new ways. Our boat tour was one of our most popular events last year, so this year we are delighted to be coming back with not one but two fantastic boat tours!

Let the words of Dagogo Hart, Samuel Yakura and Emmet O’Brien carry you down the Liffey and out into Dublin Bay at our Spoken Words at Sea event. These poets and performers, creators, spinners and weavers of words, will bring you a special selection of performed pieces inspired by Dublin’s river and bay. This promises to be a dynamic and enthralling event.

Later in the day, join the inimitable master storyteller and performer Niall de Búrca for what is sure to be a captivating event. Niall has been lauded for his ability to bewitch people with his storytelling, through both his words and his performance as a whole, so hang on to your hats and prepared to be whisked away!

This is an adults-only event but Niall will also be holding a storytelling session for all the family, feet firmly planted on the ground, at our Winter Hub at Dublin Castle earlier that same day.

These events are in partnership with Dublin Port who will be providing us with our beautiful vessel for the day, the St Bridget. So come join us for what promises to be two unique literary events on the water at Dublin Book Festival 2022.
