Book Launch: Sounding Ireland: Radio and the Making of Us Clíodhna Ní Anluain
Join us for the launch of Sounding Ireland: Radio and the Making of Us (New Island) by Clíodhna Ní Anluain. Marking 100 years of public broadcasting in Ireland, this richly detailed book is both a celebration and a reflection of RTÉ Radio and a century of stories told, voices heard and memories made. It’s the story of how Ireland’s national broadcaster grew from its first 1926 transmission into a powerful cultural force and a trusted national voice – recording our cultural, political and sporting life, nurturing creative talent, and bringing people together for shared experiences that define generations.
Clíodhna Ní Anluain is a culture and arts producer for RTÉ, who has worked across programmes such as Sunday Miscellany and Book on One during her time with the national broadcaster. She has also edited several anthologies, including Miscellany50 and other Sunday Miscellany selections.
